Research Activities
The Research
Unit of our Department is located in a two-storey building within the
University General Hospital of Verona. The main research activities of our
Department are in the areas of epidemiological and social psychiatry, in
clinical psychopharmacology, in communication in medicine and in the evaluation
of psychotherapy.
Research facilities include the South-Verona Psychiatric Case Register (PCR),
which started on 31st December 1978 and covers the South-Verona area (100,000
inhabitants). The South-Verona PCR presently uses a dedicated computer. For
database management Oracle, version 8 is used, together with programs written
by our staff. For statistical analysis we use SPSS, SAS, STATA and other
statistical packages
